The Olive Oil Pre-Poo / El Pre-Poo con Aceite de Oliva

It was wash day, and Amara stood in front of the mirror, admiring her beautiful crown of thick, natural curls.

Era el día de lavado, y Amara estaba frente al espejo, admirando su hermosa corona de rizos naturales y abundantes.

Her hair was full of coils and curls, each one different and beautiful. But Amara knew that her natural hair needed gentle care, especially when it was time to wash it.

Saturday morning was wash day, and Nia knew exactly what that meant. She gathered her favorite products, a wide-tooth comb, a soft towel, and a bottle of oil.

Before stepping into the shower, Nia began her favorite part of the routine: pre-pooing.

Pre-pooing meant applying an oil, conditioner, or moisturizing treatment to her hair before shampooing. Her grandmother had taught her that tightly curled and coily hair could become especially dry because its natural oils had a harder time traveling from the scalp down the bends and curves of each strand.

Maya stood in front of the mirror, gently touching her curls. They were soft, full, and beautiful, reaching toward the sky like little spirals of sunshine.
